Belleville, WI - Gladys I. Schulz, age 90, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at AgraceHospice Care, Inc. in Fitchburg.
She was born on March 17, 1923 at Cottage Grove, WI to her parents Martin and Louise (Jordalen) Stiklestad. Gladys attended the Buckeye School. On March 4, 1942 she was united in marriage to Raymond Schulz at Dubuque, IA. Gladys farmed with her husband for many years and later worked in the kitchen at the New Glarus Home for 20 years until retiring in 1995. She was a former member of the Brooklyn Lutheran Church and current member of the First United Church of Christ in Belleville. Gladys was a faithful member of the Belleville Senior Citizens and avid euchre and card player. She was an accomplished cook and baker and known for her cinnamon rolls and cookies. Gladys was a kind, caring, and tenderhearted person whose family was the most important thing to her.
Gladys is survived by her sons David (Carol Larson) Schulz and Scott (Kelly) Schulz both of Belleville, WI, grandchildren Brenda (Frank) Gobel and Dylan and Taylor Schulz, great-grandchildren Derek and Danielle Gobel and Josey Scoville, and a great-great-grandson Trey Gobel. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond in 1980, brothers Carl, Henry, Obert, Wilbur, Roger, and Lawrence, sisters Helen Dietsch and Marie Moe, a grandson Todd Schulz, and a daughter-in-law Linda Schulz.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the First United Church of Christ, 130 E. Church St., Belleville, WI with the Rev. Heide Walker Hackman officiating with burial in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Brooklyn.
Relatives and friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2013 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI.
