Gaynold Eileen (Carr) Brown

OREGON-Gaynold Eileen (Carr) Brown, age 89, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at Oregon Manor.

She was born on Dec. 4, 1923, in Sauk County the daughter of Floyd and Helen (Faga) Carr. Gaynold was a 1942 graduate of Ithaca High School in Richland County. She graduated in 1967 from the Madison School for Occupational Therapy and worked in several area nursing homes. Gaynold retired in 1991 from the Dane County Public Health Department. She also worked for many years with the Foster Grandparent program at the Central Wisconsin Center.

Gaynold is survived by her children, Judy (Mitch) Parr of Rockford, Ill., Janet (Larry) Wanless of Cambridge, Janeen (Steven) Running of Verona, and Scott Brown of Jersey City, N.J.; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, Gaylord (Drucilla) Carr; and her nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents; son and daughter-in-law, John and Patricia Rentz; and son-in-law, Clifford Ripley, Jr.

A Memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park St., Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

    The WISC-TV studio parking lot was busy with hundreds of viewers bringing their sensitive documents to be destroyed as part of Shredfest with the Better Business Bureau Saturday morning.

    A combined 1,295 cars dropped off bags of papers at WISC-TV on Raymond Road and SVA Certified Public Accountants firm on John Q. Hammons Drive.

    News 3 and Better Business Bureau team members unloaded bags of documents from viewers' cars and Pellitteri Waste Systems' Data Destruction team put the papers into the shredding trucks.
