Elaine L. Bradley

Elaine L. Bradley, age 88, passed away peacefully with her family by her side May 4, 2013.

She was born Feb. 20, 1925, in DeForest, daughter of Jens and Nellie (Fadness) Newburg. Elaine married Clarendon "Carnie" Bradley on June 30, 1945, at Norway Grove Lutheran Church in DeForest.

Elaine graduated from DeForest HS in 1942 and from Madison Business College. Elaine then worked for the State of WI and left there to raise her family. Later she worked at the State Medical Society.

Elaine and Carnie loved to travel and traveled to all 50 states and twice to Norway to visit relatives. She enjoyed bowling. Elaine was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was a past board member and belonged to Leah Circle. She also belonged to the Elks Auxiliary #410 and VFW Auxiliary #7591.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years Carnie; daughter Carla, son Bruce (Nancy) Bradley; granddaughter Amanda; sisters in law Julie Newburg and Katie Bradley. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, 2 infant children, Mark and Lisa; two sisters Ruth Russler Morrison and Dorothy Peck, one brother James Newburg, and many other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday May 9, 2013, at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH 1904 WINNEBAGO STREET, MADISON, with Rev. Susan Schneider presiding, followed by burial at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Wednesday May 8, 2013 at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 MONONA DR, MADISON, and also at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday.
