Dr. James C. Lampman

Dr. James C. Lampman, age 84, went to his Heavenly home on Friday, June 7, 2013.

He was born on September 1, 1928, in Madison, the son of Clarence O. and Bernis (Ferrel) Lampman. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Brand on April 7, 1953 in Pittsburgh, PA. Jim was a veteran of the United States Army who proudly served his country overseas in Germany with the 379 EVAC Hospital during the Korean War.

He graduated from LaCrosse Teachers College, taught and coached for two years at DeForest High School and then attended Marquette Dental School, graduating in 1959. He practiced for 50 years providing dedicated and loving care to his patients until he retired in 2009.

He helped start a Dental Clinic in Ambergris Caye, Belize, Central America and was a member of several dental associations. Jim attended The Church at Christ Memorial, where he was an active member and leader of the church for many years. He was proud to have served as the General Chairman of the Madison "Bill Glass Crusade for Christ."

in the 1970S, Jim enjoyed his farm in Montrose Township and caring for his apple orchard and grape vines. He had a variety of interests and was an avid hunter and world traveler, but loved most being the "father of four and grandfather of seven."

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marilyn (Lynn), his children, Jim (Sarah) of Rock Springs, WI, Linda Lampman of Olympia, WA, Sharon (David) Robinson of Terre Haute, IN and Sandra (Richard Pierce) Lampman of Verona; seven grandchildren, Peter and Jon Lampman, Colin (Kriti Sharma) and Amy Maxwell, Katie, Alex and Ben Robinson and a sister, Jean Wiesner.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nancy Grainger.

Funeral services will be held at THE CHURCH at CHRIST MEMORIAL, 2833 Raritan Road, Madison at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 13, 2013, with the Reverend Jeffrey S. Meyer presiding. Burial will be in Montrose Pioneer Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL HOME, 2950 Chapel Valley Rd., Fitchburg and also on Thursday at the church from 10:00am until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Church at Christ Memorial or to Agrace HospiceCare, Inc.
