Doris Ann Ambs

Doris A. Ambs, 78, of Cuba City, WI passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at the Epione Pavilion in Cuba City, WI.

Services will be 10:30am on Thursday, Nov. 14th, at St. Rose Catholic Church, Cuba City, WI with Father David Flanagan officiating; burial will be at St. Rose Cemetery, Cuba City, WI. Friends may call on Wednesday, Nov. 13th from 3pm-7pm at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI and on Thursday from 9:30am till time of service at the church. A parish wake service will be held on Wed. Nov 13th at 2:45pm at the funeral home.

Doris was born on April 3, 1935 to Leo & Myrtle(Hunt) Honkomp in Benton Township, WI. She attended Benton Schools. She married Eugene C. Ambs on September 11, 1954 in Dubuque, IA. She worked as a pharmacy technician at Cardin’s Pharmacy for 28yrs. and retired in 1999. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church. She enjoyed camping, bowling & crocheting, but most of all the time spent with her family and grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Doris is survived by her children: a daughter, Carla (Dick) Richardson of Belleville, WI; a son, Rich (Lynda) Ambs of Cuba City, WI; 5 grandchildren: Jodi (Rudy) Weber of Belleville, WI, Brian Richardson of Columbus, OH, Travis (Renee) Richardson of Surprise, AZ, Jason (Cassie) Ambs of Cuba City, WI and Jerry (Stephanie) Ambs of Cuba City, WI; 7 great-grandchildren: Madalynn Weber, Riley Weber, Wyatt Richardson, Eliza Richardson, Savannah Ambs, Treydon “Buddy” Ambs, Paislee Ambs; and a sister, Barbara (Herb) Chapman of Footville, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gene (March 25, 2012), a sister, Janet Hoff and an infant sister, Mary.

In lieu of flowers a Doris A. Ambs Memorial Fund has been established.

  • PHOTOS: Viewers drop off sensitive documents for Shredfest

    The WISC-TV studio parking lot was busy with hundreds of viewers bringing their sensitive documents to be destroyed as part of Shredfest with the Better Business Bureau Saturday morning.

    A combined 1,295 cars dropped off bags of papers at WISC-TV on Raymond Road and SVA Certified Public Accountants firm on John Q. Hammons Drive.

    News 3 and Better Business Bureau team members unloaded bags of documents from viewers' cars and Pellitteri Waste Systems' Data Destruction team put the papers into the shredding trucks.
