MOUNT HOREB-Bertha Shinoye Masaki, loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on Aug. 22, 2013at Ingleside Manor in Mt. Horeb, W

Bertha was born on Feb. 18, 1922 in Florin, California, the daughter of Kazuo and Misuno (Kamidoi) Kadokawa . She had many fond memories of growing up with her brothers and sisters in a farming community. After the war, Bertha moved to Denver, Colorado with her sister Helen. She married Ichiro Masaki on Oct. 13, 1945 and later moved to Southern California where she spent most of her married life. Bertha and Ichiro raised their son, Hideo Dennis, in Torrance, California.

She also had many enjoyable years working for Union Bank (The Bank of Tokyo), making many friends. Employee bank trips to Las Vegas were some of her best memories. But her fondest memories were of her son and grandchildren.

Bertha’s final years were spent with Dennis and his family in Wisconsin. She lived at Ingleside Manor for the last years of her life. She was well cared for. Many thanks go to the UW Health doctors and staff in Mt. Horeb and to Ingleside Manor. Bertha loved a good joke and told many in her lifetime so when you hear one think of her.
