Barbara A. Beauchaine

FITCHBURG-Barbara A. Beauchaine, age 56, of Fitchburg, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013, at her residence.

She was born on April 12, 1957, in Madison, the daughter of Duane and Donna (Roth) Johnson. Barbara was previously married to Mark Beauchaine and Bill Lensch. She grew up in Madison and graduated from LaFollette High School. Barb worked at Ahrens Cadillac and Oldsmobile, as well as Physicians Plus. She decided to go back to school and graduated from UW Madison with a teaching degree. Barb taught school in Tampa, Fla. for a time, but moved back to Wisconsin due to allergies. Barbie enjoyed warm climates, swimming at the beach, Jimmy Buffet, pink flamingos, manatees, and her cat, Lily.

She is survived by her parents, Duane and Donna of Madison; brother, John (Nancy) Johnson of Columbus; sister, Kristi Loper of Buffalo, N.Y.; niece, Katie Zerjav; nephew, Jared Zerjav; along with numerous cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013, with the Rev. Bernt Tweit presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to NAMI Dane County National Alliance on Mental Illness, 2059 Atwood Avenue, 4th Floor, Madison, WI 53704, www.namidanecounty.org.

Barbara’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Cindy Anderson and Bill Lensch for their loving care and compassion. Barbara is finally at peace and without pain.

Visitation:
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.

Service:
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013, with the Rev. Bernt Tweit presiding.

Cemetery:
Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens.

    The free BBB Shredfest event Saturday offered anyone with documents containing personal information to shred up to three bags. Destroying documents is one way to protect one's identity and thwart fraudsters.

    More than 1,600 cars stopped by two Madison locations from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, and 27 tons of documents were shredded, a Better Business Bureau representative said. The sites were at SVA Certified Public Accountants, 1221 John Q Hammons Dr. and Warner Park, 2930 N. Sherman Ave.

    PHOTOS: Thousands take part in 34th annual CrazyLegs 2016

    The 34th annual CrazyLegs Classic 8K Run and 2-mile Walk Saturday raised money for UW Athletics. As of Friday night, 13,000 people had signed up to participate, and organizers expected more to register Saturday morning before the race begins in waves at 11 a.m.

    WINNERS: Pat Jenkins, 24, of Cambridge, is the top finisher in the men's category. UW law student Jessa Hackman, 24, of Madison, is the top female finisher.
