Stephen Mario Matusewic

Verona - Stephen Mario Matusewic, age 72, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013 of a heart attack. Steve was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Bresadola) Matusewic, and grew up in Hurley, Dubuque and Green Bay, where he graduated from Premontre School. He served six years in the nuclear Navy aboard the USS Scorpion and the USS Lafayette. He received Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Art from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and was supervisor of the UW Nuclear Reactor Laboratory at the time of his retirement in 2005.

He is survived by his daughter, Laura (David) Dettloff; his son, John (Abby) and grandson, Wyatt of Edgerton; his sister, Mary (John) Weissenborn; nieces Johanna and Melissa of Wheaton, IL and his former wife, Linda, of Edgerton.

A memorial service will be held at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, VERONA CHAPEL, 220 Enterprise Drive at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2013. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, www.nmcrs.gov. in memory of Steve.
