Scott J. Zahorsky

COTTAGE GROVE-Scott J. Zahorsky, age 45, of Cottage Grove, was resurrected to new life and freed from cancer and its pain on Feb. 15, 2013. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife, Anita along with his amazing children, Mara and Mitchell. All who knew Scott knew he lived his life with meaning and grace. He positively impacted the lives of everyone who met him. Scott’s smile and good-natured presence will be always missed.

Scott was born on Apr. 1, 1967, in Worthington, MN., the son of Gerald and Louise (Riss) Zahorsky. After graduating from college in Mankato, MN, Scott went to work at Automatic Data Processing and worked in field service for 25 years. He and Anita Starner were united in marriage in 1989 in Worthington. He was very active at New Life Church and never hesitated in helping out even if it meant air-drumming with the band.

Scott is additionally survived by his parents; sibling, Kris and Ron Ray and their children, Kelsey and Nathan; grandma, Grace Rosenbrook; in-laws, Leslie and Edith Starner; and other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Joseph Zahorsky, Jr.

Funeral services for Scott will be held at NEW LIFE CHURCH, 7564 Cottage Grove Rd., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, with Pastor Rob Carlson presiding. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 4 until 8 p.m., on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013. Burial will be at Hope Cottage Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 4 until 8 p.m., on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013.

Service:
Funeral services for Scott will be held at NEW LIFE CHURCH, 7564 Cottage Grove Rd., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, with Pastor Rob Carlson presiding.

Cemetery:
Burial will be at Hope Cottage Grove Cemetery.
