Sandra ‘Sandy’ Lee Cook, 65, of Five Points, died Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Franciscan Skemp Hospital in LaCrosse. She was born September 10, 1947 in Muskego the daughter of Merton and Bette Bowyer. Sandy moved to California after graduation and went to work as a driver for AC Transit for many years. In 1983 Sandy married Larry Cook and the couple moved to Wisconsin after retirement. The couple purchased a piece of property in the Blue River area. Larry preceded Sandy in death in 2007. Through the help of her neighbor Alayne, Sandy was introduced to a new group of people, which she became very close friends with. These friends will be forever grateful for the time they were able to share together. She went to work at Pine Valley Health Care in housekeeping. She loved her job and the time she was able to spend with the residents. For the last year Sandy had a special friend Bill. They enjoyed doing many outdoor activities together, especially fishing. Sandy enjoyed riding horseback, snowmobiles, skiing, fishing, country music, spending time with her friends and her dog Molly. She never wasted a minute of the day. Sandy had a full body laugh which everyone who heard it loved and will remember.
Sandy is survived by her brother Bill Bowyer of the Milwaukee area, three nieces, one nephew, four great nieces and nephews. her Pine Valley Family, other relatives, and friends.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Larry, and sister Judith Romstad.
A Celebration of Sandy’s Life will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the Pratt Memorial Chapel from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service of Richland Center is assisting the family with their arrangements. Online condolences can be made at prattfuneralservice.com.
