Regina (Barry) Connelly, age 95, of Rising Sun passed away on Friday, January 4, 2013 at the Lakeview Healthcare Center in West Salem, Wisconsin. She was born on March 8, 1917 to Lee and Amelia (Shannon) Barry. Regina married Joseph Connelly on August 9, 1938 at St. James Church in Rising Sun.

Regina was a wonderful mother and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She lived nearly her entire life on the farm where she was born and enjoyed being outdoors and all the activities associated with farm life. Many enjoyed the fruits of her huge vegetable garden as well as her great baked goods and cooking. No visitor went away hungry. Regina loved to play euchre and was forever proud of her Irish Heritage. She had a great love of music throughout her life.

Regina is survived by her children: Pat (Kathy) of Lansing, IA, Betty (John) Lynch of Seneca, Jerry (Carol) of Madison, John of Spring Grove, MN and Danny (Robin) of Rising Sun. She is also survived by her grandchildren: P.J., Tim and Steve Connelly, Jerry Lynch, Marci Payne, Katie Boos, Kelly Weisensel, Kris Holden, Kim, Carrie, Matt, Adam and Jacob Connelly. She is further survived by 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends. In death she is reunited with her husband Joe, her parents, her sister Elvena (Jim) Slattery and a granddaughter Tiana Connelly.

A special thanks to the Lakeview Healthcare Center staff for the attention and kindnesses they displayed for our mother.
