Patricia Ann Breitenbach

Patricia A. Breitenbach, age 89, passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. Pat was born in Madison on February 1st, 1924. She met her husband Otto K. Breitenbach while they were attending Edgewood High School. They went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin in Madison where Pat was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. Pat and Otto were married on July 3, 1945 at St. Raphael's Cathedral in Madison, and they were happily married for 61 years.

Over the years, Pat volunteered at Olbrich Gardens, Lindbergh Elementary School, the Governor's Mansion, with handicapped children in several different locations, and at many other charities. She enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, painting, entertaining, traveling, and dancing. She loved being Up North and never missed a year being there with her family.

Pat is survived by her daughters Sarah (Larry) Urben of Madison and Jane (John) Stenske of Northbrook, IL, and her son Bill (Sue) Breitenbach of Salina, KS. Other survivors include her brother John (Tink) O'Meara of Williamsburg, VA, grandchildren Molly (Dan) Bowden of Cuba City WI, Jill (Paul) Major of Carmel, IN, Dan (Sarah) Urben of Madison, Dr. Kate (Butch) Kukanich of Manhattan, KS, Jennifer (Isaac) Smith of Okinawa, Japan, and Michael (Kimi) Breitenbach of Olathe, KS, and 16 great grandchildren.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband Otto, daughter Peggy, and sister Nancy Nevins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 5460 Mary Lake Road, Westport, with Msgr. Charles Schluter officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N. Sherman Ave. Interment will be at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Cemetery.
