WAUNAKEE/MADISON-Norma M. Thiede, age 89, of Waunakee, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on July 23, 1923, in Juneau County, the daughter of Henry and Marie (Prochnow) Daugs. In 1942, she moved with a friend to the big city of Madison and gained employment at Oscar Mayer where met the love of her life, William E. Thiede. The couple married on Oct. 6, 1946, in LaValle, WI. She Norma was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, and a volunteer at the “House of Thrift” for many years. She loved to travel the world with her husband Bill, enjoyed cooking, baking and dining out, took great pride in taking care of her home, and appreciated spending time with friends and family.

Norma is survived by her nieces, Joene (Richard) Werner, Rhonda (John Egnarski) Stellflue, Verna Walsh, Michaeline Estabrook, Dorinda Paizis, Teresa Thiede, and Diane Kopan; nephews, Gene Kopan, Gary (Donna) Kopan, and Greg (Karen) Kopan; sister-in-law, Dorothy Thiede; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill in 1989; her parents; and her sister, Verdina Nelson.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, with the Rev. Dustin Krystowiak presiding. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1021 Spaight St. Madison, WI 53703 or Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI. 53711.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, with the Rev. Dustin Krystowiak presiding.

Cemetery:
Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens.
