Published On: Feb 17 2013 07:09:18 AM CST

MONONA-In loving memory of Mildred “Millie” Kaske. She was born on July 10, 1931, in Philadelphia, and left us peacefully, after bravely fighting a battle with a broken heart, on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013. She suffered the loss of her cherished husband of 58 years, Earl Thomas Kaske, M.D. on Nov. 26, 2011.

She is survived by her four children, Thomas Gaeten, 58, of Madison, Dr. Terese Irene Kaske Porreco, 56, married to Richard Porreco, M. D. of Denver, Colo., Timothy Joseph, 53, of Madison, and Tina Rose Kaske-Sanchez, 51, of Monona; and their only grandchild, Edwin “Eddie” Thomas (Kaske) Sanchez. She is further survived by her loving sister, Rose Dominic of Philadelphia, Pa.; and many loving nephews and nieces. Millie’s parents, Gaetano and Amelia arrived from Italy to Ellis Island at the turn of the century and raised six children in Philadelphia. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings including, Theresa, Joseph, Chuck, and John.

Mildred enjoyed her work as a sales associate at Gimbles/Boston Store for more than 35 years and made many friends amongst her co-workers and customers who will miss her dedication and fun personality. Millie enjoyed traveling, entertaining, gambling, and was an amazing Italian cook. She was our rock and was always there for her children, her grandchild, and her many friends. Some of our fondest memories include her amazing sense of style, that she was the only mom who listed to rock and roll (WISM), and drove her cool convertibles around Monona. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, with the Rev. Sandra Schieble presiding.
