Margaret J. "Peggy" Fakes

Margaret J. “Peggy” Fakes age 86 died on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Golden Living Center, Randolph. She was born on January 13, 1926 in the Town of Elba to Raymond and Nettie (Murray) Donner. She was married to Raymond Fakes on February 13, 1945 in Columbus. She formerly was employed at the Wisconsin Cheeseman in Sun Prairie for many years. Later, Peggy was a hard working and dedicated certified nursing assistant at the Columbus Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Columbus for over 30 years. Peggy had a very caring nature, both while working as a CNA and with her family. She desired harmony within her family and enjoyed ‘looking after’ her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her spare time, Peggy was an avid reader.

Survivors include her five sons, Charles (Gail) of Fox Lake, John (Carla Scheiner) of Sun Prairie, Stephen of Waterloo, David (Annette) of Doylestown, Michael of Columbus; one daughter, Annie Deich of Cambria; fourteen grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a sister, Dorothy Starker of Columbus; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1979; a sister, Mary Johnson; two brothers, Edward and Fred Donner.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the funeral home with Rev. Steve Kortendick officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the Okeeg Cemetery, Danville. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until noon on Saturday at the funeral home.
