MADISON-A bright star lost its shine when Kenneth Todd Laylan, age 27, of Madison, passed away on March 24, 2013. He was born on May 27, 1985, the son of Jack and Kris Laylan. Ken was a graduate of Madison West High School. He was formally employed by Copps Grocery Store on Cahill where he was a lead worker in the Produce Department. Ken also enjoyed working alongside his uncle, Todd, with his construction projects. He enjoyed spending time with his good friend, Richard Dean. He was a fan of Badger sports and enjoyed all kinds of music. Ken brought so many enjoyable moments to all whose lives he touched.

He will be greatly missed by his loving parents, Jack and Kris Laylan; sister, Katie; paternal grandma, Rachel Laylan; uncle, Todd Laylan; aunt, Kathy (Dave) Dennis; cousins, Vicki (Brian) Fehrman and their children, Emily and Nicole, and Mark (Cassie) Dennis and their children, Cody and Tristen; and many other loving relatives. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Doc and Kay Prenot and his uncle and kindred spirit, Bruce “Bubba” Laylan.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL HOME, 2950 Chapel Valley Rd., Fitchburg, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2013, with the Rev. Jeff Vanden Heuvel presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for a fund to be established in Ken’s name.
