Janette Ann Chrisler

Janette Ann Chrisler, age 77, of Prairie du Sac passed away after a courageous battle with breast cancer on Monday, February 11, 2013. She was born on August 14, 1935 at home in Weyerhaeuser, the daughter of Joseph and Catherine (Poplawski) Jessick.

On September 25, 1954, she married James Chrisler, the love of her life, who preceded her in death in 2007. They were married 54 years. She worked for many years at Mueller Sports Medicine. She was also an avid sports fan. She loved watching the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, Badgers, NASCAR and all Sauk Prairie athletics.

Her true calling was being the best mom, grandma and great-grandma. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren; they will truly miss her. She spent all her life loving and caring for her family. Family was always first.

Janette is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Amy), Jacquelynn (Ron), Jon (Kim), Joel (Lisa), Jay (Stacy), and Jeremy (Nichole); sisters Virginia Bloedel, Kathleen (Jim) Meister and sister-in-law Mary Ann Jessick; Grandchildren: Kerri (Nate), Kurt (Crystal), Ali (Jonathan), B.J., James, Taylor, Christopher, Christian, Reagan, Clint (Dana), Brent (Jill), Elliot, Mike (Brittany), Matt (Megan), Mikayla, Ashley, Lexi, Nikki, Emily, Luke, Emily, Logan, Parker, Cole, Noah and Evan; Great Grandchildren: Kinzie, Griffin, Madelyn, Emmalyn, Blake, Kaylin, Nora, and Harrison.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, grandson Kevin, and brother Edwin Jessick.

A funeral service will be held at ST.JOHN EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 100 Oak St., Prairie du Sac on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 11:00am. Burial will follow in the Prairie du Sac Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 3:00 pm until 7:00pm at the church.

The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Dr. Frontiera and the outstanding caring nurses at Dean Medical Center Oncology.

  • PHOTOS: Madison store helps collect hundreds of Teddy bears for police

    MADISON, Wis.--A west Madison store is part of an effort to collect hundreds of stuffed animals to donate to six police departments in Southern Wisconsin.

    Todd Merryfield, owner of The Learning Shop at 714 S. Gammon Road, said the store is collecting the bears for officers who use them to help comfort children with whom police come in contact.

    "This is a great way to support what (police) do," Merryfield said. "Those are the kids that need something like this to reassure them, calm them down, and let them know that things are all right."

    Nearly 500 plush animals were donated Tuesday, a Learning Shop spokeswoman said. The Madison store's effort is part of a larger initiative through the Bears for Humanity organization.
