James Robert Lynch Sr.

OREGON-James Robert Lynch, Sr. “Bob” “Red”, age 82, of Oregon, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was born on Jan. 14, 1931, in Richland Center, the son of James “Leo” and Myrtle (Lyons) Lynch, and grew up on Madison’s Eastside. He married Donna Baxter on May 8, 1954, in Milwaukee. Red served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and received a Purple Heart and Silver Star in recognition for his service and was a member of the Oregon/Brooklyn VFW Post. He was a journeyman plumber and a member of Plumbers Local #75 for 46 years. Red served on the executive board of the local #167 and was a member of Holy Mother of Consolation Catholic Church. He loved the outdoors, camping, animals, and was an avid Badgers and Packers fan. Most importantly, Red enjoyed time spent with his family.

Red is survived by his children; James, Jr. (special friend, Pam), Jeanne “JiJi” Pien, Joe, John (Karri), Jerard “Jerry” (Lori), Jason, and Jamison “Jamie”; 12 grandchildren, Angela Pien, Amanda (Brian) Holloway, Morgan Lynch, Nicole (Scott) Turner, Calli Lynch, Jake Lynch, Chantel Lynch, Austin Lynch, Dylan (Heather) Lynch, Cee Jae Lynch, Megan Lynch, and Ryan Lynch; great granddaughter, Emerson Holloway; sisters, Donna (Richard) Mathison, Mary (Harold) Lanzendorf, and Shirley Heise; brother, Tom Lynch; brother-in-law, Allen Miller; sister-in-law, Jill Lynch; and 70 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; sister, Carol Miller; and brother, John Joseph Lynch.

Funeral services will be held at HOLY MOTHER OF CONSOLATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 651 N. Main St., Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, with Father Gary Wankerl presiding. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Oregon/Brooklyn VFW.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to St. Mary’s Care Center, St. Mary’s Hospital, and Sienna Crest in Oregon for the care given to their father.

Visitation:
Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Friday.

Service:
Funeral services will be held at HOLY MOTHER OF CONSOLATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 651 N. Main St., Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, with Father Gary Wankerl presiding.
