JANESVILLE--- Izetta A. Weir, age 92, of Janesville, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Cozy Little Acres. She was born on June 8, 1920 in Plainfield, WI, the daughter of John J. and Valeria (Liebe) Piekarski. She was from a family of 12 children: Peter Piekarski, Paul Piekarski, John (Marion) Piekarski, Genevieve (John) Jensen, Winifred (Samuel) Weir, Marion Piekarski, Gerald (Helen) Piekarski, Theresa (Lyle) Stavn, Daniel Piekarski, Constance (George) West and Vernetta (Herbert) Riegert. The family moved to Janesville and Izetta spent most of her life here except for some years in Florida. She attended St. Mary's School and Janesville High School. Izetta married Ross Weir on March 11, 1937. She was the mother of 4 children: Kenneth Weir, Larry (Joyce) Weir, Shirley (Wayne) Steele, and Gary Weir. Izetta loved sunshine, reading, crossword puzzles, playing cards (especially Canasta), trips to the casino and quilting. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Izetta is survived by her 2 children, Shirley (Wayne) Steele and Gary Weir, both of Janesville; 13 grandchildren: Shannon and Shane Weir, Pamela (Dan) Linneman and Tim Weir all of Janesville, Terri Urban of Stoughton, Lynette (Donald) Combs Jr. of Oshkosh, Jason (Tiara) Weir of Sun Prairie, Wendy (Dan) Relich of Chicago, Jennifer (Mark) Leitz of Ironwood, MI, Gregory Steele of Eau Claire, Corey (Sarah) Weir of Edgerton, Chris (Carrie) Weir of North Carolina, and Brandy (Randi) Martin of Texas; 23 great grandchildren: Shea, Tiffany, Caitlin and Karra Weir, Niqi Linneman, Ben Kettle, Ashley and Ross Steele, Kayla, Kyle, and Kimberly Urban, Josh, Georice Combs, Ryan Relich, Taylor (Dylan) Ross, Kaylyn Steele, Sarah, Ava, and Emma Weir, Devin Cross, Tyler Weir, Ana and Tommy Weir; 4 great great grandchildren: Tatiana Murphy, Traesen Steele, Mariah and Keiana Weir; a brother, Gerald Piekarski; a sister, Winifred Weir; many nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ross; 2 sons, Kenneth and Larry Weir; 5 brothers: Peter and Paul who died in infancy, John, Marion who was MIA in WWII, and Daniel; 4 sisters: Genevieve, Theresa, Constance, and Vernetta; and 3 great grandchildren: Jacob Steele, Lacey Weir, and Gerard Combs.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Janesville with Father Jim Kuhn officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Wednesday at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of Mass at 1:00 p.m. The family is being assisted by the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY.

The family wishes to give deep appreciation to Cozy Lil' Acres and Mercy Hospice for the care they gave Izetta, our Mother, Grandmother, great and great great grandmother.
