Georgia E. Griffin

Georgia E. Griffin, 84, of Muscoda passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 31, 2013, surrounded by her family at Golden Living Center in Muscoda.

She was born on August 25, 1928, in Richland County, WI, the daughter of Edward and Pearl (Dalton) Garner. On April 7, 1948, Georgia married Robert Griffin at the Presbyterian Church in Muscoda. In addition to being a homemaker on the family farm, she became an elementary teacher in Muscoda and Highland and enjoyed that career for many years. Georgia enjoyed playing cards, bird-watching, crossword puzzles, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the United Church of Muscoda Presbyterian, the Order of the Eastern Star, Delta Kappa Gamma, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her two children:
Dixie (Ken) Delkamp of Muscoda
Ed Griffin of Ocala, Florida

five grandchildren:
Kelly (Kevin) Schaefer of Muscoda
Matt (Cheri) Delkamp of Reedsburg
Katie (Jeff) Campbell of Reedsburg
Hannah Griffin of South Bend, Indiana
Mac Griffin of Key West, Florida

eight great grandchildren:

Michael, Adam, and Abraham Schaefer; Abby, Charlee, and Lanie Delkamp; and Eli and Luke Campbell, and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Georgia was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents, and her brother Taylor Garner.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 11:00 AM at the United Church of Muscoda Presbyterian. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of services. Burial will be held at a later date. The Godager Funeral Home of Muscoda is assisting the family with their arrangements.

    Admission is $7 and Zoo Lights will run Thursdays through Sundays beginning at 5:30 p.m.
