Erwin Petkus

MADISON- Erwin Petkus, age 85, passed away at Oakwood Village East with his loving wife, Gertrud, holding his hand.

He was born on Jan. 16, 1928, in Lithuania, to Gustav and Martha Petkus. Erwin married Gertrud Dressmann on April 15, 1949, in Germany. In 1951, they immigrated to the United States with their two daughters, Monika and Brigitte. Erwin worked 40 years at Gardner Bakery and raised two additional children, Peter and Richard. He loved hunting and fishing with his sons and friends.

Erwin is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Gertrud; children, Brigitte (Bob) Kovich, Monica (Tom Clark) Petkus, Peter (Lisa Parks) and Richard (Paula); 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Oakwood Prairie Ridge Tree of Life Chapel East, 5565 Tancho Dr., Madison, at noon, on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013.

Visitation will be held at Oakwood from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Agrace HospiceCare and the staff at Oakwood Village East for all of their compassionate care.
