Dolores Mary McCluskey

Dolores Mary McCluskey, age 84, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Lodi. She was born September 16, 1928 in Madison, the daughter of the late William and Mary Baebler. She was united in marriage to Darrell McCluskey on March 12, 1949.

She began her working career for Security State Bank where she met her husband-to-be and continued that phase of her working life at Ohio Medical, Ray-O-Vac, and retired from Cuna Supply in 1992, after 27 years.

Survivors include her husband, Darrell "Mac" McCluskey; two sons, Michael (Kimberly) and John (Patricia) a daughter, Sharon; a grandson, Michael; two great-grandchildren, Jeffery and Molly; a sister, Eleanor (Earl) Monson; a brother, Philip (Patsy) Baebler; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bill, and a sister, Virginia (Wallace) Ryan.

Dolores loved to travel, having been in all 50 states, as well as Australia, New Zealand, England and Europe. Golfing was her favorite pasttime and she had an eagle on a par-4 hole, but loved the Badgers, and for years was priviledged to attend all the home games and on occasion, traveled to away games. The Packers were the only team in the NFL. Her faith, for years, gave her the desire to visit the shut-ins at home and in nursing homes. She spent the last years of her life in Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Lodi. She so much appreciated the affectionate care of the many nurse's aides in "Good Sam", who daily took care of her personal needs. To all of these wonderful and dedicated workers...THANK YOU. She took these excerpts by Robert Test: To remember me, give my sight to the one who has never seen a sunset. If you must bury something, let it be my faults, my weakness and all prejudice against my fellow men. If by chance you wish to remember, do it with a kind word or deed to someone who needs you, but give my soul to God. If you do all I ask, I shall live forever.

A memorial service will be held at ST. JOHN EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 100 Oak St., Prairie du Sac, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 31, 2012 with Pastor Fred Rilling officiating.
