David Ralph Simerson

David “Dave” Simerson, age 66 of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin died Saturday, February 2, 2013 at his home with his loving family by his side.

Memorial funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the United Presbyterian Church in Wisconsin Dells with Reverend Steven Keller officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service at 11:00 A.M.

Dave was born December 20, 1946 in Berwyn, Illinois the son of Ralph and Ruth (Rehbein) Simerson. He graduated from Ferris State College, with a Bachelor of Science in Trade Technical Education in 1968 and became a Graphic Arts Professor at Triton College. He later pursued a career as a Graphic Arts Salesman selling large multi-color printing presses. He was a member of numerous clubs and was President of the Chicago Club of Printing House Craftsmen, Chicago Lithographers Club, Illinois Live Steamers, Riverside Great Northern, Wisconsin Dells Rotary Club and Stewards of the Dells of the Wisconsin River. From an early age Dave had a passion for trains and Republicans. He enjoyed track and field, skiing, fishing, golfing and biking. He was deeply involved with his church and the Gideon’s. He loved those sticky buns at Perkins.

Dave is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Allison (Jim) Mixa of Sandwich, IL; sons, Mark (Kelsey) Simerson of Petaluma, CA and David Simerson of Maui, HI; sister, Beverly (Frank) Schoff of Illinois; his grandson, Nathan and his granddaughter, Brooke. He was preceded in death by his parents.
