Arnold L. Hagen, 91, of La Farge and formerly of Viroqua died Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Vernon Manor Nursing Home in Viroqua. He was born July 18, 1921 the son of Arnt & Signa (Hemstead) Hagen and grew up in Indian Creek. Arnold attended elementary school in Rockton and graduated in 1940 from La Farge High School. On June 2, 1946 he married Inez Hagen from Bloomingdale. They moved to the Haggerty farm in Star Valley, north of La Farge, in March of 1951 and in 1968 they sold the farm to the Corp. of Engineers for the LaFarge Dam Project. They then moved to Viroqua where Arnold did carpenter work for twenty years. The last house he worked on is where they have lived for the last 22 years, just three miles east of La Farge. He spent many hours in his shop either building furniture or restoring old farm tractors. He became interested in flying and obtained his pilot’s license and later bought his own airplane.

Arnold is survived by his wife, Inez of La Farge; sons: Gary of La Farge, Kevin (Linda) of Sun Prairie; two grandsons: Nick and Tim of Sun Prairie; one great-granddaughter, Natalie of Sun Prairie; two sisters: Doris Helgren of Norwalk and Norma Onsager of Valders.

Blessed be our memory of Arnold L. Hagen.

Memorial services will be held in the spring at the Sandhill Bethany Lutheran Church in rural La Farge.
