Shirley Parsons, age 79 of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin died on Friday, November 29, 2013 at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo, Wisconsin.

A private family graveside service will be held at the Hillside Cemetery in Whitewater, Wisconsin at a later date.

Shirley was born May 9, 1934 in Whitewater, WI, the daughter of Raymond and Linnie (Taylor) Smith. She attended Whitewater High School. She married Jerry Krahn in Whitewater in 1952. She operated the family hog farm in Richmond Township; operated Krahn’s Resort on Whitewater Lake and owned the Taylor Farm Restaurant in Janesville. She also managed CBRF’s (Community Based Resident Facilities) in Janesville and Fort Atkinson. Shirley worked tirelessly as a visiting nurse and home care provider. She loved bring gifts to her grandchildren and loved our sports teams, especially the Packers and the Brewers.

Shirley is survived by her sons, Steve (Michelle) of Wisconsin Dells, Gary (Beth) of Wisconsin Dells and Jeff (Jolene) of Edgerton, WI; sisters, Violet Hodge and Mary Lou Meyer; brother, Harold Smith; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Judy A. Kulinski.
