Shirley A Walsh

Shirley Angeline Walsh, 76, of Mauston passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at the Crest View Nursing Home, New Lisbon, with her loving family at her side.

Shirley was born in Mauston, Wisconsin on May 2, 1937. She was the eldest daughter of William and Viola (Bader) Fields. She was united in marriage to John E. Walsh on April 8, 1953. They were blessed with 10 children and raised them all on the family farm. Shirley loved her flowers, baking and decorating cakes, spoiling her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a special bond with her grandchildren and they always wanted to go to grandma’s house. She was an active community leader in the church and truly enjoyed working at the nursing home with her compassionate heart. She always loved her dogs especially Tammy and Angel.

Shirley is survived by her husband John E. Waslh, her children: Judy (Eugene) Neve, John (Jeanne) Walsh, James (Connie) Walsh, Daniel (Lisa) Walsh, David (Mary) Walsh, Jacqueline (Randy) Josing and Jane (Kurt) Salverson.

She is survived by her grandchildren: Raquel (Robert) Yarroch, Tanya (Seth) Walsh-Laehn, Christina (Justin) Olson, Tera (James) Tobin, Tammi Walsh, Michael Walsh, Kelsey Walsh, Matthew Walsh, Dionne Walsh, Keira Walsh, Clayton Walsh, Daniel Walsh, Seth Walsh, Alex Walsh, Marisa Walsh, Kadence Walsh, Danni Jo Mehne, Kourtney Salverson and Klaudia Salverson

She is survived by her Great-Grandchildren: Chloe Walsh-Laehn, Taylor Walsh, Xavier Yarroch, Peyton Olson, Conner Olson, Abigail Tobin and Kendall Walsh.

She is survived by her brothers: Bernard (Beverly) Fields, Morton (Mary Kay) Fields, Eugene (Joyce) Fields, William (Sue) Fields, and sister Calla Betthauser.

She was preceded in death by her 3 children: Mary Ellen, Michael and Catherine; great granddaughter Aislyn Yarroch; parents: William and Viola Fields and sister Darlene Kronberger.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, September 23, 2013 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Mauston with Fr. G. Valentine Joseph officiating.

Burial will be at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery.

Family and friends may call on Sunday, September 22nd from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Crandall Funeral Home, Mauston.

    The free BBB Shredfest event Saturday offered anyone with documents containing personal information to shred up to three bags. Destroying documents is one way to protect one's identity and thwart fraudsters.

    More than 1,600 cars stopped by two Madison locations from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, and 27 tons of documents were shredded, a Better Business Bureau representative said. The sites were at SVA Certified Public Accountants, 1221 John Q Hammons Dr. and Warner Park, 2930 N. Sherman Ave.

    PHOTOS: Thousands take part in 34th annual CrazyLegs 2016

    The 34th annual CrazyLegs Classic 8K Run and 2-mile Walk Saturday raised money for UW Athletics. As of Friday night, 13,000 people had signed up to participate, and organizers expected more to register Saturday morning before the race begins in waves at 11 a.m.

    WINNERS: Pat Jenkins, 24, of Cambridge, is the top finisher in the men's category. UW law student Jessa Hackman, 24, of Madison, is the top female finisher.
