John C. Anderson

Waunakee – John D. Anderson, age 73 passed away after a lengthy illness on Monday, May 27, 2013. He was born February 3, 1940 in Stoughton, the son of John C. and Johanna (Skaar) Anderson.

He graduated from Deerfield High School. He started Mobile Glass in 1961 where he co-owned the company until the present time. He married the former Arlene Nachreiner on October 23, 1982 at Bethel Lutheran Church. He was an avid golfer and took great pride in his yard work. He enjoyed Indy car racing and attending the Miller 200. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a conservative Republican and he was proud of his Norwegian heritage. Annually he made lutefisk and lefse with his family and delivered it to his friends. He loved animals, especially his dog Max, who died when she was 17 years old.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene Anderson of Waunakee; two children, John B. (Zora) Anderson of Washington and Jodi (Kurt) Anderson-Selsor of Westport; four grandchildren, Andrew Anderson, Jon Simpson, Stephanie (Tyler) Poster and Stewart Selsor; sister, Joan Heiman of Madison;a brother Jim Anderson of Michigan; many nieces and nephews; four step-children, Phillip (Gloria) Morgan, Cindy (Larry) Friedman, Kevin (Kathleen) Morgan and Kerry (Kathi) Morgan; eight step-grandchildren; and two great-step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Marion Osterlie.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mark Bartels officiating. Burial will be held at Deerfield Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dane County Humane Society, 5132 Voges Rd Madison, WI 53718.

The family would like to thank Dr. Campos and staff at University Hospital for the wonderful care provided to our family.
