Ivan J Farness

Ivan J Farness, 78, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013. He was born November 23, 1934 the son of Ivan and Josephine (Landsness) Farness. Ivan graduated from Richland Center High School in 1953. On September 29, 1956 Ivan married Joyce Linscheid. He attended Barber School in Milwaukee and worked in Middleton until he bought his shop in 1960. He barbered in Muscoda until 2009. Ivan served for over combined 40 years on the Muscoda Village Board, Riverdale School Board, and the Grant County Board. He was also named the Muscoda Man of the Year. Ivan loved the Brewers, Badgers, Packers and was a shareholder of the Packers.

Ivan is survived by his wife of 56 years Joyce, four children, Julie (Tom) Herzog of Fargo, ND, Lisa Farness of Muscoda, Eric (Katie) Farness of Oregon, Kris (Kelly) Frawley of Waunakee, eight grandchildren, Molly (Leif) Johnson, Andrew and Eric Herzog, Max and Jakob Farness, Caitlin, Maggie, and Ben Frawley, two great-grandchildren, Leah and Eli Johnson, brother-in-law, Bill Jewell of Boaz, sister-in-law, Charlene Linscheid of Muscoda, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Al, Clara, Richard and Don Linscheid, and sisters Betty Jewell, and Elaine (John) Fleming.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Father Peter Auer officiating. Friends may call at the Godager Pratt Funeral Home, 412 N. Iowa St., Muscoda, on Friday, April 26, 2013 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a rosary to be held at 7:00 PM. Friends may also call at the Godager Pratt Funeral Home on Saturday, April 27, 2013 from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM.
