David "Moley" Fitzpatrick

David “Moley” Fitzpatrick, age 79 of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin passed away peacefully Monday, April 14, 2014 at his residence.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Wisconsin Dells with Father Michael Richel celebrating. Visitation will be held at Picha Funeral Home in Wisconsin Dells on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Thursday at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.

David was born September 4, 1934 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin the son of William and Annabelle (McKinley) Fitzpatrick. He grew up in the Wisconsin Dells area and attended schools here and was on many sports teams of which he was proud. He then attended UW-Madison and earned a biology teaching degree and also was a member of ROTC. After college he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Ft. Bragg. Following an honorable discharge he returned to the Dells and found work as a carpenter. He applied his skills to help construct Noah’s Ark, then worked at Badger Ordnance followed by over 10 years with Findorf Construction in Madison from which he retired. Moley was an avid deer hunter using both bow and gun and he liked fishing.

David is survived by his best friends and companions, Kathy Egge and his dog, Duke; dear friends, Snook, Jill and Jaci (the Blatchley Girls), Aron Blatchley; Todd Sandy, Tyler and Brian Braun and many other special friends and acquaintenances. He was preceded in death by his parents and his dogs, (Duke 1,2 3 and 4).
