Curtis Lynn Pellmann

Published On: Sep 30 2013 09:26:13 AM CDT

Curtis Lynn Pellmann, age 70, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital following a heart attack.

He was born in Waukesha, March 21, 1943 to the late Kenneth and Carol (Jacobson) Pellmann. Curt was a landscape contractor for 40 years. He had a real gift for landscaping. His business was in Pewaukee, WI. He and his son Kurt were a team, one that Curt treasured. His business logo could be found on all his equipment “just add dirt”. In later years he landscaped churches that he was affiliated with.

Curt loved farming, and when he retired, farming, was his hobby. He particularly enjoyed running the equipment. He always had old equipment and kept it running with his mechanical abilities. There really wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. If one stopped to watch him work, you were reminded of a little boy in a sandbox with his Tonka trucks. Although he was working, it appeared as if he was really playing. His favorite papers were his farm papers, he always read the sale sections looking for used equipment and what the equipment was worth.

Curt discovered he really enjoyed singing, first joining the vocal choir at Concordia Methodist Church and then singing high tenor with the Singing Men of Central Wisconsin. Curt is a member of Concordia United Methodist Church, Prairie du Sac, and was proud to have served in the U.S. Army National Guard Reservist Unit.

He is survived by his wife, Jan; his son, Kurt “Shorty” Pellmann; seven sisters and four brothers, Sheryln (Roger) Tremaine, Correen Schultz, Randall Pellmann, Penny (Ronald) Suhr, Lance Pellmann, Lex Pellmann, Laurie (Richard) Nelson, Diane (Joe) Cieslewicz, LuAnne (Donald) Tembreull; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary.

Curt was a “good guy”. Small in stature, but big in heart. He was liked and loved by the many people who came in contact with him. He will be sorely missed. We love you Curt.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 11:00 am at Concordia United Methodist Church, 585 Fifth St., Prairie du Sac. A visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the time of the service.
