Edgewood advances to WIAA state volleyball championship

The Edgewood Crusaders will play for the WIAA division two state girls volleyball championship match Saturday after downing Altoona in straight sets in the semifinals at the Resch Center Friday afternoon.

The Crusaders  won the semifinal match 25-12, 25-12, 25-21.

Edgewood (37-4) will play undefeated East Troy (43-0) in the division two state championship match Saturday afternoon at 2.

Sun Prairie's season ended in the division one semifinals as the Cardinals dropped its match with Menomonee Falls, 25-19, 25-17, 25-18.

In division four, Clayton defeated North Crawford in straight sets, 25-9, 25-16, 25-17 behind 17 kills from McKenna Cardinal. North Crawford hit only .077 in the match.

North Crawford ended its season with a 28-5 record. Clayton plays Regis for the division four championship tomorrow morning at 9.

In division three, Regis defeated Brodhead 25-16, 25-20, 25-19 as Shea Brey had 18 kills to lead the Ramblers. Carly Mohns had 11 kills and Rachel Heller 10 for Brodhead.

The Cardinals finished their season with a 29-6 record. Regis plays Auburndale for the division three championship tomorrow morning at 11:30.
