A mother took her two young children out to eat a local fast-food restaurant and discovered something unexpected in her French fries - a bag of marijuana.

Police say Carla McFarland, 35, of Frederick, Maryland, and her children were all set to enjoy their lunch at Sonic when she discovered a small, green plastic bag of marijuana in her fries, reports Reuters.

McFarland also called police as did the restaurant manager. An employee who claimed ownership of the bag was fired.

McFarland posted about her find on Facebook, along with a photo of the bag.

"I order, food comes, I open a bag and this is what I see after 3 double takes ... yes that's what it is," she wrote.
