Whoa, baby!

A mother in New York City ended up giving birth in a busy Manhattan crosswalk after her little one apparently couldn't wait to make her debut.

The woman was already in labor when she stepped out of her apartment to catch a cab Monday.

But the baby couldn't wait.

"She was like, 'Oh my God, the baby's coming,'" one witness told New York TV station WNYW. "And then I could see the baby's head coming out."

A large crowd gathered around the woman, with several passersby stopping to help.

The baby's father made it to the scene too eventually.

The woman was smiling as she was loaded into an ambulance, and she and her baby girl were doing just fine.
