An elderly woman faces charges after she hit a pedestrian and then continued on to go use a restroom instead of stopping to help the victim.

The Arizona Daily Star reports that Persis Draper, 92, said she was driving alone in Oro Vally, Ariz. when she hit a 43-year-old woman who was jogging through a crosswalk. Instead of pulling over, Draper drove to a nearby grocery store to use the restroom. "I was going to stop, but then the diarrhea came and I didn’t stop,” Draper told deputies.

Draper also decided while she was in the grocery store to get some rolls for a potluck she was attending at a later time. After leaving the store, she drove back to the scene of the incident, but by the time she returned, nobody was there. So Draper decided to drop the dinner rolls off at her church for the potluck before going home.

Another driver, who witnessed the incident, took down her license plate number and gave deputies the information. They arrived at Draper's home later that day and cited her for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk; failure to control speed to avoid an accident; and leaving the scene of accident with injury and failure to render aid.

The jogger was taken to the local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
