Unconscious man was punched, in critical condition, police say

MADISON, Wis. -

A 28-year-old Madison man is in critical but stable condition after being found unconscious and suffering from significant head injuries Thursday morning, according to a release from Madison police.

Police said the man was found in the 3600 block of Kipling Drive at 12:30 a.m.

Witnesses told police they heard a loud disturbance in the area. One witness said the man had been punched by another man. He was found near a sidewalk.

Police said there was a social gathering at a nearby apartment right before they were called.
