Texting driver who hit cyclist: 'I just don't care'

A texting motorist who slammed into a bicyclist in Australia told police she has some regrets -- about her car.

Kimberley Davis, 21, was texting with seven different phone numbers when she hit the bicyclist from behind in Koroit, a small town in western Victoria, The Standard reported.

Phone records show she used her device 44 times during the trip.

While Davis called first responders, she refused to help the bicyclist and had some choice words for responding police officers:

"I just don't care because I've already been through a lot of bullshit and my car is like pretty expensive and now I have to fix it. I'm kind of pissed off that the cyclist has hit the side of my car. I don't agree that people texting and driving could hit a cyclist. I wasn't on my phone when I hit the cyclist."

David was fined $4,500 and lost her license for nine months.

Her victim, meanwhile, suffered a spinal fracture and will be hospitalized for months, The Standard reported.
