A student in Taiwan has taken cardboard to the extreme, crafting an incredibly realistic Iron Man suit out of the material.

Xhong Kai-Xiang, 20, recently unveiled the creation that took him more than a year to complete.

The detail in the costume is unreal.

Xhong painstakingly carved out every notch and detail in the armor, and also created all the hinges and joints himself using a process called pepakura.

He said he's been turning sketches into art since high school.

"I have since produced lots of artwork with cardboard," Xhong told the Stan Winston School of Character Arts. "For example, Optimus Prime from "Transformers," skeletons of the T-Rex and a Pterodactyl, an "Iron Man" suit, and so on. And the last three of them were all made full-size."
