A realistic-looking statue of a man sleepwalking in his underwear is causing a stir on the campus of Boston's Wellesley College.

The figure, which sits beside a street on campus, is actually a sculpture by artist Tony Matelli.

Entitled "Sleepwalker," it was intended to draw attention to Matelli's new exhibit at the campus museum.

And it certainly has.

While some are fine with the statute, more than 500 students have signed a petition demanding its removal, calling it "inappropriate" and "potentially harmful."

"This could be a trigger for students who have experienced sexual assault," freshman Sarah Schreiner told the Boston Globe.

School officials aren't budging so far.

The statue is scheduled to remain up until July 20, or for the duration of Matelli's exhibit.
