Report: Wisconsin below country average for job growth

Published On: Jun 27 2013 07:34:34 PM CDT

MADISON, Wis. -

A new report ranks Wisconsin in the bottom half of the country when it comes to job growth.

Wisconsin ranks 34th in the country, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics report on 2012 data.

It shows jobs increased by about 1.2 percent.

The data indicates for the first two years of Gov. Scott Walker’s term, the state added 62,000 private-sector jobs.

While campaigning, Walker said he’d add a quarter-million jobs to the state, but the numbers show he’s only a fourth of the way there, halfway through his term.
