Police: Woman sexually assaulted in parking lot

MADISON, Wis. -

A woman was approached by a man and sexually assaulted in a parking lot, according to a report from Madison police.

The 44-year-old Stoughton woman told police she was walking on South Park Street on May 14 around 9 p.m. when a man approached her from behind. She said the man threatened her and made her walk to a parking lot on North Wingra Drive where she was assaulted,.

She said she believed the man was armed with a handgun.

The man is described as black, in his 40s, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall with a medium build and short hair. He was wearing a blue zippered sweatshirt and blue jeans.
