Police: Man hits parked car, charged with 5th OWI

A Janesville man was charged with a fifth drunken driving offense Saturday morning after police said he was involved in an accident.

The Janesville Police Department said officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident on the 200 block of North Pearl Street at 12:08 a.m.

Police said 58-year-old Bun Yan Nhoung Pel hit a parked car. Pel failed field sobriety tests at the scene and was taken to Mercy Hospital for a blood draw, according to the report.

Pel was arrested on suspicion of a fifth-offense operating while toxicated and taken to Rock County Jail.

Police said the results of the blood draw were not yet available Saturday morning.
