TOWN OF BEAVER DAM, Wis. -

A small plane piloted by a 19-year-old woman made an emergency landing in a field in the town of Beaver Dam Sunday afternoon, according to a release.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Department took a report from the Dane County Sheriff’s Department that a plane had made an emergency landing and was believed to be in the Columbus area, according to the release.

The aircraft, a Piper Archer, low-wing, fixed-wing aircraft, made an emergency landing in a field in the general area of Canary Road and County Highway G, about 2 miles south of the City of Beaver Dam, according to the release.

Officials said the pilot, Remington Viney, has been a licensed pilot for less than a year. There were three other occupants of the plane and no injuries were reported. The other occupants were Daniel Imhoff, 62, Rose Imhoff, 68, and Tia Scanlon, 49.

Preliminary information is that the aircraft had a problem with a fuel switch-over and the plane ran out of fuel, officials say.

Sheriff's officials commended Viney for safely landing the plane in a field without damaging the plane or injuring the passengers.
