GREEN BAY, Wis. -

The long-running program that strives to keep young people off drugs in Brown County could be looking for another source of revenue in the near future.

The Green Bay Packers currently allow the Drug Abuse Resistance Program to park cars on game days at the Lambeau Field area lot and keep the revenue. Brown County Sheriff John Gossage says the parking generates about $230,000 a year in revenue -- which is just about their entire budget.

The Packers say the program can use the lot again this year, but beyond that, there's no guarantee. The team has been buying land around Lambeau for several years as it eyes a retail, entertainment and sports district that could provide non-football income.

Press-Gazette Media reported four full-time D.A.R.E. officers teach a 16-week curriculum in 57 schools in Brown County.
