Pa. woman crashes into accused bank robber

A Pennsylvania woman is credited with stopping an accused bank robber by crashing into his getaway vehicle.

Robbery suspect Alexis Laskowski had to abandon his sport-utility vehicle about a quarter-mile from the heist in Warrington after the collision with Tina Gleim, police told York TV station WPMT.

Gleim, 51, was outside the bank Thursday when a shaken teller told her they had just been robbed.

"I thought, 'I can't stop him any other way, I might as well hit him,'" Gleim told the York Dispatch. "I saw an opportunity that I could stop a criminal from getting away with it."

Police arrested Laskowski, 38, shortly after the collision.

Gleim has survived Stage 4 colon cancer and the partial removal of her right lung, according to the Dispatch.

"I'd probably do it again if the timing worked out, if I had an opportunity," she said.
