Being part of meeting the United Way's goal

Published On: Sep 24 2013 08:33:01 AM CDT

The school year is just barely three weeks old and we still can’t get the images of community members, business people, volunteers and others lining the walkways to local schools out of heads. It was such a powerful picture of a community saying to its students “You matter and school’s important and we’re going to help you succeed.”

That demonstration was organized in part by United Way of Dane County and the effort continues with United Way’s "I’m Here" school attendance project and it’s yet another example of why United Way’s Agenda for Change is so important.

We remind you of that because the annual campaign is in full swing and your contribution – no matter how small – your partnership in raising $18 million to do this work is needed right now.

A few bucks a paycheck will go a long way. And, like helping our kids succeed in school, it will mean a lot to our entire community.
