MPD: K9 helps nab burglary suspect

MADISON, Wis. -

A K9 officer helped capture a man suspected of breaking into a north side apartment Friday morning.

Police were called to the 1400 block of Trailsway at 1:50 a.m. when a concerned citizen spotted a man entering an apartment through a window.

Police said K9 Slim’s partner had the dog start barking to alert the burglar that police were there. The man exited the apartment and was arrested.

Eric C. Hilson, 44, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and on a parole violation.
