Police in Minnesota had to jump into a boat to capture a man accused of burglarizing a restaurant.

The 31-year-old Austin man was arrested Sunday after trying to make his getaway in a kayak, according to The Associated Press.

The restaurant was closed when an employee giving a tour apparently interrupted the burglary.

Police determined the suspect was in a kayak on the nearby Cedar River. They got a fire department boat and, with the help of a firefighter at the wheel, were able to make the arrest.

The man is accused of stealing lighters and cleaning supplies.
