A McDonald's manager in Southern California is accused of robbing his own restaurant at gunpoint.

Felix Jeronimo Gonzalez-Becerra, 42, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to kidnapping and robbery charges in the holdup of his Pleasanton restaurant and a McDonald's in San Mateo, according to the Los Angeles Times.

According to police, he donned a white mask and threatened employees at the drive-through window of the Pleasanton restaurant with a gun at about 3 a.m. on Aug. 28.

He forced three workers to open a safe in the office and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash, San Francisco TV station KTVU reported.

Gonzalez-Becerra was arrested Sept. 2 after a similar robbery at a McDonald's in San Mateo.

He was ordered held without bail and remained in police custody. His next court appearance is Oct. 9.
