Students in one Massachusetts school district are staying home Thursday because the floors are too slippery.

According to the Amherst Regional School District website, all six of its schools had to be closed because of "weather-related building issues."

All of the schools' floors had been waxed this summer.

However, Wednesday's hot temperatures melted that wax and made the floors slick, causing at least 22 falls throughout the district, Amherst Regional High School Principal Mark Jackson told The Associated Press.

No serious injuries were reported.

Middle and high school students in the Mount Greylock Regional district in Williamstown were dismissed early Wednesday for similar reasons, according to the AP.
