A man faces charges after trying to toss a football stuffed with heroin, marijuana, cell phones and chargers into a state prison yard.

Christen Deon-Sterling Moore of Detroit, Michigan is accused of slicing open a football, stuffing it with contraband and stitching it back together before attempting to throw it over the fence at the state prison in Jackson, Michigan, reports Reuters.

However, the attempt failed and the football landed short, between two security fences.

A corrections department spokesman said a prison officer apprehended Moore and the driver after seeing him toss the football and turned them both over to Michigan State Police.
